Advanced Health Assistant
Allied health assistants support and assist the work of allied health professionals by undertaking a range of tasks, both clinical and non-clinical. Students enrolled in this module have completed the Patient Care Assistant and Allied Health Assistant competencies and/or are adding these skills to be a more multi-skilled worker. Students will perform skills representative of one to three areas of allied health care in the laboratory and clinical settings. Major areas of allied health are defined as physical therapy, emergency, radiation, laboratory and respiratory medicine, and occupational therapy. Other areas of health, medicine, dentistry, or veterinary may be included with instructor provided competencies.
Diploma in Health Assistance
Diploma in Health Assistant is a medical nursing programme of short duration. The programme is designed to inculcate basic patient care skills and prepare the student for health care assistance. The students are trained to provide service with humane understanding. Hands-on practical training is a key highlight of this programme which includes service at various OPDs and wards.
Diploma in OT Technician
Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology is a Diploma level Operations Theatre Technology program. This program prepares aspirants to work in the operation theatre as competent reliable technologists among the other team members of a healthcare department, under the supervision and guidance of senior doctors and Technical persons in their delivery of patient care.
Diploma in Lab Technician
A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) is a two-year diploma course. The course involves training in clinical laboratory tests to diagnose, prevent, and treat diseases. The DMLT course covers: Biochemistry, Pathology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Using lab equipment, CT scans, X-rays, MRIs. The course also offers various specializations such as: Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohema. A medical lab technician is a healthcare professional who performs diagnostic analyses on body fluids. These include: Blood, Urine, Sputum, Stool, Cerebrospinal fluid CSF, Peritoneal fluid, Pericardial fluid, Synovial fluid.
Diploma in Radiology Technician
A Diploma in Radiology Technician is a two-year course that teaches students about imaging technology to diagnose and treat diseases. The course covers topics such as: Patient care, Imaging techniques, Biochemistry, Tomography, Therapeutic and diagnostic radiography. Radiography is a medical subfield that uses imaging techniques like: Fluoroscopy, Angiography, X-ray, MRI, CT Scan, PET.
